- WHAT type of CBD you are purchasing (Broad Spectrum, Isolate, Full Spectrum, Synthetic);

- Where does the hemp seed originate from (is it a USDA approved industrial hemp seed, or a hemp seed product imported to the USA);

- Where is the actual CBD product made or sourced from (is it imported from a foreign source, is it from a US based company or a foreign owed company with a Subsidiary office located in the US);

- Where is it grown, manufactured, or assembled;

- What is the extraction process (is it a solvent based process or a C02 extraction process) and;

What types of CBD are illegal in North Carolina and elsewhere?

CBD companies are prohibited by the FDA to make any claims to the effectiveness of CBD.

To be crystal clear, the FDA has only approved one CBD product, a prescription drug product to treat two rare, severe forms of epilepsy. We have seen claims by some "other brands" that their product has been approved by the FDA and this is simply inaccurate and misleading.

What is KNOWN, is that every mammal has a Endocanabinoid System (ECS). The discovery of the ECS was patented by the United States of America represented by the Department of Health and Human Services on Oct 7,
2003. The patent number was 6,630,507.

The ECS is responsible for setting the baseline activity levels of our immune system and nervous system, which then work to maintain our health. When the ECS falls out of whack, the systems that are regulated by it can begin to malfunction.

CBD is the subject of thousands of studies and trials, carried out by various institutions, around the world, to uncover the facts about this dynamic compound and its effects on our bodies. It is our hope that many more US based research will be forthcoming to help support claims that the FDA can endorse.

Whether you are on a CBD regimen or are thinking about taking CBD, please be SURE to inform your doctor or wellness professionals. They need to know the brand, the strength of the product (the total MG per bottle), the dosage (the ML you consume), when you take it and how often.

Without regulation, CBD is essentially an Over-the-Counter (OTC) product and like any other OTC medication or supplement, your doctors need to note this in your personal health and wellness charts. They need to help you stay safe by performing routine blood tests to monitor your liver enzymes, regulate your heart medications (such as a blood thinner) and look for any other known drug interactions in order to help you avoid any issues.

Until more FDA accepted research becomes validated in regards to CBD, it does not mean that you can't or shouldn't consume CBD products, it just may mean that you should choose to inform all of your doctors and be monitored by them for any potential risks or problems.
